Our primary research focuses on developing new 2D materials-based membranes for water, energy, and environmental applications. We utilize the unique properties of the angstrom-sized channels in these membranes to uncover new fundamental science.  Our research is backed by fundamental science, and we are constantly seeking to deepen our understanding of the underlying principles behind these materials and their applications. 

Team Leader Rakesh Joshi has supervised over 20 Research Students (10 PhDs and 10 master’s by research) as Main Supervisor at UNSW Sydney.
