Research Focus: New Science > High Accuracy > Reproducibility > Scalability
We explore how molecules behave inside angstrom-scale channels and uncover new physical principles that guide the design of highly selective and efficient membranes. This deep scientific understanding enables us to translate fundamental physics directly into practical, high-performance solutions that can make a meaningful impact across multiple sectors while expanding the broader knowledge of nanoscale transport phenomena. Building on these insights, our research group develops advanced membranes made from 2D materials for water purification, clean energy systems, and environmental applications, ensuring that each innovation is firmly grounded in fundamental science while addressing real world challenges.
Team Leader Rakesh Joshi has supervised over 20 Research Students (10 PhDs and 10 master’s by research) as Main Supervisor at UNSW Sydney.
